Farm Holidays

Self catering farm stays can be a great base for your family holidays. Our farm stay holiday is slightly different to most. The holiday accommodation is far enough away that you don’t have to be with the animals all the time, but close enough that you can be. Farm holiday accommodation is a great way to see Devon’s beautiful scenery and get a real feel for the countryside. Moorparks farm was built around 1850 and is a grade 2 listed building, the listing is due to it being a ‘Typical Devon farm of the area’. Also part of the listing is a ‘Milestone’ marker on the verge outside. We love showing holiday guests around the farm and introducing them to our different animals. We have chickens, ducks, standard and rare breed sheep. Always a family favourite are the alpacas and friendly goats.

COVID Safe & Secure Holiday

At Moorparks, we’re dedicated to providing a safe environment for our guests.
Both our cottage and barn lodgings are COVID-19 secure, and allow for ample privacy away from other guests and from us.
Each farm stay home also includes its own private garden area, so whatever the weather is like, you and your loved ones can stay safe and have fun.
Likewise, our facilities are isolated, self-sufficient lodgings that allow for great getaways for those who wish to avoid close contact with others during their stay. Farmyard Fun

All of the animals in our Moorparks flock are either pets or rare breeds.
We treat our animals as one of our family, and we encourage visitors to get involved as much as they would like during their stay.
A farmstay is a great way to introduce children to farm animals. Children love coming to the chicken coop to collect their eggs. Why not wander over to the sheep pens to help feed and cuddle our furry friends?
There is so much to learn about the animals at our Devon farm . Children (and adults!) will have plenty to do if they want to stay on-site, and we are always happy to show people around our smallholding.

Affordable Rural Getaways

Need a break/holiday after lockdown? Looking for a place to stretch your legs? Our beautiful and quaint holiday cottages are the ideal place for families, couples or single-stayers to shake off the quarantine cobwebs and enjoy the wonders of the Devon countryside. There are plenty of local and coastal walks within a short distance. Devon’s coastline is one of the most diverse in the UK.

It’s not all about Moorparks and our smallholding

Halsdon Nature reserve is just a couple of miles away. Past guests have seen Kingfishers and otters from the hide located by the river bank. Moorparks is just a 5 mile drive from RHS Rosemoor gardens, a great day out. Within a 15 minute drive there are golf courses, fishing lakes and the Tarka trail. The Tarka trail, in total, is 180 miles long with 30 miles traffic free. Great for a cycle or walk with many place to stop for a snack or meal. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach and offer varied activities. Devon is great for all your outdoor activities. Walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding and rock-climbing. Being so close to the North Devon coastline there is also the chance of sailing, caving, swimming in the sea and surfing. Have a look at some of the local activities here.
With easy access to both North and South Devon it’s a great area to visit for the whole family. The local area has some great friendly pubs serving fabulous food and drink.
During the summer months there are plenty of local events, activities and agricultural shows to visit. However there’s also plenty to do for those with a more relaxed approach to nature and the great outdoors! Check our availability here.

Weekend and midweek breaks

If you are looking for a short break or romantic getaway, we offer 3 night weekend breaks (checking days Friday and Saturday) and 4 night mid-week breaks (checkin days Monday and Tuesday) short stay or a romantic getaway. Why stay in a hotel, our self catering property has everything you need.

No to Booking Agents, Yes to Savings

As a humble, independent farm stay service, we like to keep things personal. That’s why we don’t use any third-party agents for our bookings. This lets us stay connected with our guests, tailoring any booking details to their needs, and ultimately saving them money on hidden or extra booking fees.
