RHS Rosemoor Torrington
11th August 2019
RHS Rosemoor Torrington, it’s only a 5 minute drive down the road from Moorparks. As members, it’s nice to pop in for a short while just to see what is different. During the summer holidays we don’t usually get much of a change to visit, but last week we had some spare time so went along. The last few times we have been there has been some construction work going on, all exciting stuff. This time the ‘Cool Garden’ had been completed and was open.
The Cool garden was quite busy and very impressive. We always love a water garden
We took a walk around the forrest walk, not something we have done before.
On the other side of the gardens we had a quick look at the vintage cars which were on display. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to stay and listen to Torrington Silver band who were playing.
Towards the end of last year I put a new poly tunnel up, we managed to get a few things growing but it was the end of the season. This year we made a bit more of an effort, that is, the ‘Royal’ we. I also dug an outside veg patch, so we have quite a bit going on.
It’s good to go down to Rosemoor to see what they do and how they do it. This year is still a learning year: learning not to plant so many tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes!
RHS Rosemoor-Torrington is only a short distance from Moorparks Holiday Cottages, an easy drive if you are looking for somewhere to visit while you stay.
If you are looking for accommodation for a trip to RHS Rosemoor, we have two bedroom self-catering
cottages with lovely gardens and great views. Moorparks has a large, off road, secure guest parking area.
There are many other open gardens, National Trust properties or attractions near. Have a look.
