Moorparks Holiday Cottages North Devon

Moorparks Cottages, the perfect holiday accommodation to explore Devon

Swiss Valais Sheep Devon with Erik Greyface Dartmoor Sheep Devon A perfect position to explore the North Devon coastline and its many beaches, but within easy reach of Dartmoor, Exmoor and mid Devon. Moorparks holiday cottages are located near Beaford, Winkleigh, North Devon. The local pub is less than a mile and serves great food, often with a local band in the evenings. Travel a few more miles are there are pubs, restaurants and takeaways in Dolton, Winkleigh and Torrington. There are plenty of nearby attractions to keep you busy with two golf courses within a 15 minute drive, fishing, climbing and loads for the kids. Moorparks farm cottages are two self catering, well presented, two-bedroom cottages within the grounds of the original Grade-II listed farmhouse all of which sit within 12 acres, part of which is still farmed. Both cottages have their own private garden, outside eating areas and garden furniture. On site are our pet alpacas, chickens, famous ducks and sheep. We also have our breeding flock of ‘rare breed’ Greyface Dartmoor and Swiss Valais sheep. If you’re lucky, you may spot them on the LIVE webcams.

Your holiday cottages in North Devon

Moorparks holiday Cottages are the perfect countryside retreat for a self catering holiday, weekend break or long weekend. From the Cottage decking on a clear day you can see the surrounding farms and hills of Exmoor. A special place, with so much nature on our doorstep. You’re sure to see something amazing if you keep a look out. Home to our Alpacas, Swiss Valais, Ryeland and Dartmoor greyface sheep and of course chickens and ducks. If you want to see them up close and personal or fancy hand feeding them, just ask.
We hope you’ll join us to learn a bit more about the animals too.

Farm Life
We have a breeding flock of rare breed Greyface Dartmoor sheep, lambing is usually February/March. Also in the sheep paddocks are our Swiss Valais Blacknose ewes and our ‘pet boys’. The six alpacas are our pets but also act as ‘security’ during lambing time and are happy to chase any fox away. The chickens and ducks are Michele’s pets and provide eggs for breakfast!

Looking for something to do in Devon ?

The North Devon coast is a 30 minute drive, Exmoor and Dartmoor a 40 minute drive. Devon is great for all your outdoor activities including walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, rock-climbing. Being so close to the North Devon coastline there is also the chance of sailing, caving, swimming in the sea and surfing. However there’s also plenty to do for those with a more relaxed approach to nature and the great outdoors! The cottages are only a few minutes’ drive to RHS Rosemoor and the town of Great Torrington, where you can easily join the Tarka Trail. The Tarka Trail stretches over 30 miles and is great for walking and cycling, bikes can be hired in Torrington (we have a bike shed if you bring your own).
Or….just sit on the decking with a glass of wine surrounded by the animals.
